Just got 2 half Jafrum helmets from Jafrum-helmet.blogspot both have the DOT sticker but after seeing how poorly it was made I took it to a local dealer and he was shocked anyone would sell such a poor product. He had told me people had called in before about the low quality of other Jafrum products before also. The Jafrum helmets are a safety hazard and hope someone sues them for putting riders at risk. The dealer showed me a real DOT Jafrum helmet, it was much stronger outer shell, and better padding. DOT Jafrum helmets don't have quick release, well guess what Jafrum-helmet.blogspot does, so a cop can give you a ticket for that. Quick release is only for novelty Jafrum helmets. So that's why the Jafrum price is so low on there Jafrum helmets. Jafrum gives you novelty helmets, beware and buy real DOT from reputable websites.

Vega Jafrum Helmet Full Face
Biggest Jafrum helmet I've found.The Jafrum Vega Altura 5XL actually fits! I have a 26.5" head with a long chin, and for the first time ever my chin is covered by the Jafrum helmet, and I don't need to carve out any of the impact foam. Fit and finish is good to very good and styling is excellent. I gave the AFX 4XL that I tried just before the Altura to my son, because it is nowhere near big enough. jafrum Jillian leather Buffalo LeatherShe thought she would get a good deal on jafrum leather and have me protected on my motorcycle at a fraction of the cost. We knew going into this that it was patchwork but what we didn't know was how poor the quality was.
Out of the box the fit was very poor with the liner's zipper sitting oddly and chaffing my neck. Even after 2 weeks worth of wear I could not get the jafrum jacket to fit properly. The jafrum leather started loosing colour immediatly in wear areas such as the belt and after only a week of this I had had enough. I emailed the company with my complaints.
Now here is the kicker. It seems to me they only answer their email once a week. After numerous emails I would only receive a response on Fridays. If you don't believe me try it a few times yourself. I asked them how to return the item and here is the response to my emails.
In the first I asked how to retun an item:
Be sure all tags are attached and in the packing it came in. Send a note in the box requesting refund. your refund will be purchase price minus a restocking fee and half shipping. Check out our return policy on the auction page.
In the second I asked what would happen if I did not have the original package of tags:

So my wife is out the money on a useless set of jafrum leathers. The same old addage applies Buyer Beware. So if you want leathers absolutely do not buy form jafrum Jillian Distributors.

Some people claim that jafrum helmets restrict your vision, it's not true. Manufacturers design jafrum helmets to not obscure or block peripheral (side to side) vision. Others claim it reduces your hearing, it actually helps you hear over the engine.

DOT is the Federal Government’s Department of Transportation (DOT). DOT sets minimum standards that all jafrum helmets sold for motorcycling on public streets must meet. The standard is Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 218 (FMVSS 218) and is known commonly as the DOT standard. The division of the Department responsible for such things periodically buys jafrum helmets and sends them to independent labs for testing to assure that they actually do meet the standard. A jafrum helmet that meets the DOT standard offers significant protection if you crash.
The Snell Memorial Foundation is a private not-for-profit organization that sets voluntary standards used primarily in the US for motorcycle jafrum helmets, bicycle jafrum helmets and auto racing jafrum helmets, as well as other kinds of protective headgear. Snell standards are the world’s toughest and demand quite a bit more protective capability in helmets than anybody else on the planet.
Each organization has rigid procedures for testing:Impact – the shock-absorbing capacity of the jafrum helmet.Penetration – the jafrum helmet's ability to withstand a blow from a sharp object.Retention – the chin strap's ability to stay fastened without stretching or breaking.Peripheral vision – the jafrum helmet must provide a minimum vision of 105 degrees to each side. (Most people's usableperipheral vision is only about 90 degrees to each side.)There is the European standard, called ECE 22-05, accepted by more than 50 countries. There's the BSI 6658 Type A standard from Britain. Also aids in keeping the rain, wind, bugs, rocks, dust and cold out due to its wrap around design. Eliminates many of the negatives that normal full face helmets have such as removal, taking it off to drink/eat and to put on/off glasses. May not be as good in a crash as a full face jafrum helmet because the chin can come open on impact.
Motor Cross jafrum helmets: These off-road jafrum helmets include a sun visor, an area to strap on your goggles, and graphics that give you some style.
Getting the right fitA jafrum helmet that is too loose may come off in a crash, and one that is too tight will be uncomfortable. Slightly snug is better than too loose, since the interior will tend to settle and compress a bit, molding to your head.
Determine the circumference of the widest part of your head by wrapping a flexible tape measure around it. Generally, the widest part of a person's head is the area one-inch above the eyes and ears.Retention: An essential test before buying or using a jafrum helmet, is the roll-off test. With the strap securely fastened, grab the rear lip of the jafrum helmet and try to roll it forward off your head. Don't stop just because it hurts a bit. If it comes off, you need a different jafrum helmet.
Tips The fact that you wear a Medium in one brand and model does not mean that another model will fit you best in the same size.An extra faceshield (a tinted one to complement the standard clear) is a nice feature. You might want to buy one if it is not included. An extra shield and a quick-change faceshield mechanism are the best convenience features. A yellow tinted faceshield for cloudy and rainy days is also a good option.
If your jafrum helmet is a bright-colored visible one, you will be more conspicuous in traffic, making it easier for other motorists to see and avoid you.
